OUR STORY
Christian Jones was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome when he was two years old. In 2010, after a serious relapse, his mom, Kara Jones, began a grassroots effort to raise money to find a cure by organizing the annual Bay Area NephCure Walk. Supported by a group of committed friends and other patient families, they have raised over $575,000 with all proceeds benefiting NephCure Kidney International (NKI), the only organization committed to finding a cure for Nephrotic Syndrome. Leveraging on the success of the Bay Area NephCure Walk, in 2018, this committed group hosted the first Silicon Valley Pig Jig!
The inaugural 2018 Silicon Valley Pig Jig raised over $250,000 for NephCure Kidney International (NKI). Guests enjoyed live music all day, breweries served local brews in the Beer Garden, local vendors wowed visitors with their unique products and children had fun in the Kids Zone. Eighteen corporate sponsors competed in the BBQ pit to wow our celebrity judges and win bragging rights in the pit. We hope you can join us for the second annual Pig Jig at Excite Ballpark (formerly San Jose Giants Muni Stadium) on Saturday, October 5th 2019.
